Lunar is inspired by the Chinese Moon Festival leading to the design concept of the moon. The roundness of the moon symbolizes peace, harmony, and family reunion. With the use of an industrial style interior to match with the community’s industrial buildings still present today and pairing the design with a bold colour palette of red and gold, it allows Lunar’s culture to be discovered through its food, the interior space and the people. Taking the geometry of the moon, circles and curves are incorporated into the space where curves represent movement and flow which works well with the overall open space dining experience that Lunar has to offer.

Hand Sketches of the Dining Areas
The Space Plan for Lunar
The restaurant can seat up to 170+ guests, I want to highlight the overall circulation I have provided throughout the space. The use of the geometry of the moon including circles and curves are shown in the plan. This allows for great movement and flow to the overall open space dining experience.
The bar elevations are used to highlight the feature bottle display.
This render focuses on the elevated dining experience that guests can feel and enjoy. The use of the mint coloured partition and ceiling fans creates a nostalgic effect.
Multiple circular concrete breeze blocks are used to create a sense of privacy for guests along with the use of lanterns to help light up the way down the dining areas.
The moon bar features the large bottle display and the double drop ceiling surrounded by columns.
The north dining area of the restaurant features a large grid wall with Lunar's branding and again with the bright red lanterns used throughout the space.
